....And it was a fantastic experience. I've taken on Health and Communication this summer in hopes to be that much sooner to finish my General Education credits. You remember how annoying those were, right? Right? On Wednesday, I also got a rather unexpected surprise: my always-takes-me-where-I-need-to-go ride wasn't available so I got a chance to walk to school {which was an hour and a half travel!}. It was definitely exhausting but also rewarding. I've shared with you a few photos of my neighborhood above and below. Stopping to take pictures sure gets you weird stares but the results are so worth it.
I've had a very nice experience walking. Many people are accustomed to cars, buses, trolleys or metro trains, but there's a certain joy in walking that you can't get from any of the latter. You discover plenty of new shops or businesses that you wouldn't have otherwise. For example: I would have never known there was a library nearby my house if I hadn't of taken a walk and happily come upon it. Its a blissful place for me now to enjoy a good book {which I haven't done in years, so I truly needed to sit down and catch up on some reading}. Not to mention, it can be a really calming and relaxing time spent rekindling with yourself. You might not have the income to take yourself out on a date, but a good walk around your neighborhood can be just as grand.
*Side note: Above is one of the schools I'm attending for my summer classes. I'm taking Health at this facility and Communication at another facility.
There's a fine line between work and fun when it comes down to school. But as far as I'm concerned, I enjoy taking notes, listening to lectures, and studying for quizzes. It's a setting that I thrive in. {In other words, I am a nerd and have no problem admitting it.} Since I took the Spring semester off, I've been hungering going back into the classroom and regaining that purpose in life only students get from going to school. I was beginning to get rather lonely. This Summer, I get to tone my public speaking skills and learn about nutrition. A fact I think is pretty amazing. And of course, I will be sharing all the knowledge I acquire with you all, as well. So, it's going to be very educational and fun for everyone.
If you happened to read through my entire post, I so admire you! And thank you. I hope you stick around for the next chapters to come.
love and hugs, adriana.

I love how a good chunk of our Mexican joints have crazy designs on the outside. XD
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures as always~
Do they, really? Haha. Mexicans are notorious for gaudy colors, I guess.
